October 2024 - Bridge Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Rashid Mosley (Dr. Ra) as Vice President of Programs at Independent Sector.

Independent Sector (IS) is the only national membership organization that brings together a diverse community of changemakers, nonprofits, foundations, and corporations working to strengthen civil society and ensure all people in the United States thrive. IS envisions a world of engaged individuals, robust institutions, and vibrant communities working together to improve lives and the natural world and strengthen democratic societies. To help create this future, IS leads and catalyzes the charitable community, partnering with government, business, and individuals to advance the common good through its Sector Health, Policy & Advocacy, and Community Building initiatives. IS’ organizational strategies are results-centered and racial equity-focused.

Dr. Ra joins IS from the Urban Institute where he was Senior Policy Program Manager in the Research to Action Lab and the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy where he developed and implemented the strategic vision for social sector innovation programs. Previously, he served as the Faculty Director for the Adult and Organizational Learning Programs at Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies. At IS, he will join the executive leadership team and lead programmatic strategy alongside CEO Dr. Akilah Watkins.

Dr. Ra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Savannah State University, a Master’s degree in leadership from Central Michigan University, and a Doctorate in Human and Organizational Learning from The George Washington University.
