September 2022 - Bridge Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Ashley C. McCumber as President & CEO of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.
The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina (the Food Bank) is a high impact nonprofit organization with a mission to: Nourish people. Build solutions. Empower communities. The Food Bank has provided food for neighbors facing hunger in 34 counties in central and eastern North Carolina, representing just over one third of the state, for over 40 years. The Food Bank ranks in the top 15 nationally among 200 Feeding America food banks.
Ashley McCumber joins the Food Bank from Meals on Wheels of San Francisco where he spent over 15 years as CEO and Executive Director. Ashley has 35 years of nonprofit and community leadership experience with extensive expertise in fundraising, community relations, and nonprofit management with a focus on reaching historically resilient populations, including communities of color and the LGBTQ+ community.
As President & CEO of the Food Bank, he will work with an engaged Board and committed employees to guide the Food Bank in its next stage of service to the community, innovative programming, cross-sector collaborations and solving the root causes of hunger. Ashley officially starts at the Food Bank in October 2022.
Mr. McCumber holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and Public Relations from University of North Carolina. He has received several awards and served on the boards of Meals on Wheels of America, Meals on Wheels California, and is the past Board Chair of CalNonprofits.
