November 2023 - Bridge Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Tejada as SVP Environmental Health at Natural ResourcesDefense Council.

NRDC is one of the nation’s most effective and influential environmental organizations. At the core of its mission is a simple idea: a healthy environment should be a basic right for all of us—regardless of where we live, what we look like, or how we vote. The organization’s unique approach combines the power of law, science, policy, and public engagement to create solutions for lasting change.

Matthew joins NRDC from the US Environmental Protection Agency where he most recently served as Deputy Assistant Administrator for Environmental Justice.Prior to joining the EPA, Tejada Served as the executive director of Air Alliance Houston, an environmental justice organization that works to reduce the public health impacts from air pollution.

As SVP for Environmental Health, Matthew will oversee programs focused on Toxics, Air & Water and Adaptation, including NRDC’s Safe Drinking Water Initiative, which seeks to ensure all lead drinking water pipes in American cities are replaced in the next 10 years. He will be responsible for leading, scaling, and operationalizing the teams, structures, partnerships, and policy initiatives needed to tackle major health threats facing the public.

Mr. Tejada holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Oxford.
