September 2022 - Bridge Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonnel Doris as Chief Executive Officer of START Treatment & Recovery Centers.
START Treatment & Recovery Centers (“START”), is one of the country’s largest minority, non-profit community-based agencies, providing substance abuse treatment, primary medical care, and HIV/AIDS services to disenfranchised, vulnerable adults and mental health services to minority adolescents in socially and economically challenged communities of New York City. START provides its self-referred patients with holistic, evidence-based healthcare that supports the start and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle, fulfilling its mission, “To provide the highest quality of compassionate, evidence-based healthcare and social service; education of the public concerning maintenance of healthy lifestyles; and cutting-edge behavioral, biomedical and healthcare services research.”
Mr. Doris joins START after most recently serving as Commissioner of the NYC Department of Small Business Services. As the most senior executive of START, he will be responsible for the overall direction, vision, leadership, management, and motivation of the organization, its staff, and patients. He will also serve as the chief spokesperson, representative, and fundraiser of START.
Mr. Doris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from Stony Brook University where he also earned a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Analysis. Mr. Doris is the recipient of various awards including the 2017 City and State 40 Under 40 Award and the National Minority Business Council Award.
