Serena Amos

Chief People Officer
MASTERY CHARTER SCHOOLS

February 2024 - Bridge Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Serena Amos as Chief People Officer of Mastery Charter Schools.

Mastery Charter Schools is a nonprofit network of 24 public schools employing 1,800 staff and serving 14,500 students in Philadelphia and Camden. Mastery is a unique charter network in that nearly all of their schools are neighborhood schools that were turnarounds of previously struggling district schools. Consequently, their schools serve the highest poverty communities in their cities and a higher percentage of students with disabilities than their host districts. Mastery’s turnaround work has been recognized by the US Department of Education and President Obama for dramatically increasing academic achievement and decreasing violence.

Serena Amos joins Mastery Charter Schools from William Penn Charter School as Director of Human Resources. As Chief People Officer of Mastery Charter Schools, Serena will create and execute a model district talent system that drives the organization’s mission and is aligned to Mastery Charter Schools’ values. She will work closely with the CEO and Chiefs team to nurture a healthy, inclusive organizational culture that supports long-term staff retention through systems, training, and personal leadership.

Serena Amos holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from Cleveland State University.
